Soup to Nuts in Florida aka Beach Lovelies

Zero lots at Alys Beach, most with private courtyards pictured above, and just steps away from Gulf. With the Panama City Beach Airport planned in the near future - this latest "New Urbanist" community shouldn't have any trouble filling up the remaining lots with hungry homebuilders, eager for a pedestrian friendly enclave.

Above two images, Vero Beach

Bottom three images: New Urbanist townhouse and condo community Miami Beach Allison Island. I like the multiple concave mirrors against the one painted accent wall with the collection of occassional tables that look like they might double as seating.

Sorry for the terrible quality of these pictures - my scanner is acting up.

Wondrous Redd - Miles Redd that is

The French Do It Better

The time has come that 'eat your veggies' has become supplanted with 'grow your own'.
And what a wonderful way to do it with these French made growing bags. This way the growing compound can be monitored and no pesky underground creatures (like moles) can dig their way in.
Can't find the purchasing information; will keep looking.

This Art is Far-out!

Artistic CD Holder

This is not a trivet, but is a giant (4 ft) CD and DVD storage solution and too cool for school.

This is not your grandmother’s hope chest.
What a wonderful thing to hand to your children.

Need drawer space anyone?

Artistic LeWebb-StefanCoffee-Big
What a load of books I could stack underneath this coffee table, or even place a statue or two, or better yet, books on one side and statue on the other!

Leslie Webb, aiming for science, made her first wood cut and knew she had found her calling. For more information on these cool, artistic and functional pieces, go to her website.

Imagined Styling for Authors

From an Irish blogger, Homebug for more resource information. Here is a sneak peak at the pictures.

The Clampett's Meet George Jetson or Leave it to the Germans

Have camper; will travel.

Fantastic. You design the floor plan and a computer generated camper will be designed to fit that footprint. These things are light too, any car can pull one. Must. Have. One. Here.

From Drab to Fab

Before.
BeforeandafterKitchen
After. I’m reading a new site where I found this lovely
before and after kitchen redo. I sure wish I could
slow down and do a quickie kitchen redo before Christmas.
Bless their pea-pickin’ hearts for pulling it off!

David Hicks Pink Bedroom Circa 1970's

This is timeless style and other than the
scalloped canopy, I wouldn't change a thing.
This goes out to all the women suffering from
Breast Cancer. Please pray for an end to this killer.

Pick a couch, any couch.

Mr. Upfront and Personal at your service.

Mr. All Around Perfect.

 Hard working cow pokes

A mysterious "L" shaped beauty
 waiting for suitable companion pieces.

To be or not to be, that is the question.
I cannot find the source for these, but they are too delicious to go to waste. I remember something about them being handmade in Chicago and are all green design. Wow, they are sounding better all the time. Can't you just imagine designing around these beauties? Anyone of them will do ya.

Never Having to Say You're Sorry

Bathroom of the week

I love this bathroom to pieces. Look at that mondo drawer for hair dryer, curling iron, and all other manner of getting ready stuff. Slam, bam, goes the drawer shut, never having to say you're sorry about not cleaning up the bathroom counters again. The storage solution speaks to the basket lady in me and will you look at the reflection in the mirror - natural light coming from a window in the bathroom!!
How beautiful is this bathroom or what?
Found at Hooked on Houses. Enjoy.

Fall is Here and it is Spectacular

Relax, Breathe, Prepare to Rest

I don't know why I love
Fall so much; love it so
much more than Spring.
The long, sharp shadows
of the sun, criss-crossing
over saturated colors in the
fading summer foliage, a
winding down of sorts, a
mellowing, a preparation
to rest, a big....whew....'it's
been a good day' and I
need to Relax, Breathe
and Prepare to Rest.

Pergola of the week

Be still, my heart.

Pergola of the week

Be still, my heart.

Reflective, Steel, Gnarly - Oh my!

Let me deconstruct this for you.

Mirrored back wall in which tall steel
open style book shelves  are placed around a window.

Throw in a round tree table
(always superb in corners),
which happens to be made of bronze and paired with a couple of 19th-century
teak scholar's chairs

Slap one fragment of a

New Kingdom Egyptian stele, (an upright stone slab or pillar bearing an inscription or design and serving as a monument, marker, or the like),
on top of a stand and presto, it's done.
